We invite you to join Dr Dawn Buse when she will deliver the Migraine Trust Lecture entitled A New Era of Migraine Understanding: The Power of Patient‑Centered Science, Advocacy and Care, on Friday 4 September 2026.

The Migraine Trust Lecture is one of the flagship plenary sessions of the Migraine Trust International Symposium, bringing delegates together for a thought-provoking lecture from an internationally recognised leader in migraine and headache research. Each lecture highlights an area of work with the potential to shape the future of the field, connecting scientific and clinical advances with the real-world needs of people affected by migraine.

Dawn C. Buse, PhD is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, NY, USA, a licensed psychologist, a member of the Board of Directors of the Headache Cooperative of the Pacific (HCOP), and co-chair of the International Headache Society Psychology Special Interest Group.

She has more than 250 scientific publications and has received 16 scientific and professional awards for her work in migraine, headache and chronic pain. Her research covers epidemiology, comorbidity, burden and stigma, and includes major studies such as:

  • American Migraine Prevalence and Prevention (AMPP) Study
  • Chronic Migraine Epidemiology and Outcomes (CAMEO) US and International Studies
  • Migraine Signature Study (MSS)
  • International Burden of Migraine (IBMS) Study
  • Migraine, Symptoms and Treatment in America (MAST) Study
  • OVERCOME Study
  • Migraine Clinical Outcome Assessment System (MiCOAS) grant

As a psychologist, Dr Buse provides clinical care to individuals with migraine, other types of headache and chronic painful conditions using biobehavioral techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, guided visual imagery, biofeedback and mindfulness training.
