Mario Peres, MD, PhD, is President of the International Headache Society and a Brazilian neurologist specializing in headache medicine.
He practices at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and serves as a professor at the University of São Paulo Medical School. With more than 25 years of clinical, academic, and research experience, Dr Peres has contributed extensively to migraine care, education, and global health.
His work explores migraine epidemiology, comorbidities, spirituality, transcultural headache medicine, and strategies to improve access to diagnosis and treatment. He is committed to advancing equitable, culturally informed headache care through research, collaboration, education, and international leadership
