Raquel Gil-Gouveia, MD, PhD, is a consultant neurologist and headache specialist at Hospital da Luz Lisboa, Portugal, and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine and a researcher in the Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar of the Portuguese Catholic University.
She also acts as the current president of the national Luz Saude research committee. She is a member of the Board of the European Headache Federation (EHF) and the Lifting-the-Burden Global Campaign against headache and has extensive experience in clinical care, research, and education in migraine and other headache disorders.
Her research focuses on migraine pathophysiology, neuroimaging, patient-reported outcomes, and the development of evidence-based guidelines. She is actively involved in several international collaborative projects and contributes to educational initiatives and consensus documents aimed at improving headache care worldwide.
