Michele Viana, MD, PhD, is an Italian Consultant Neurologist. He has gained international clinical and research experience at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF, head PJ Goadsby), the National Neurological Institute “C. Mondino” in Pavia, Italy (head C Tassorelli), and King’s College London, UK (head PJ Goadsby).
His particular area of interest within headache medicine is migraine aura. He has designed and coordinated several clinical studies, including multicenter investigations, aimed at improving the understanding and characterization of migraine aura. His research led to the development of the Visual Aura Table, an internationally adopted tool currently used in both clinical practice and research on migraine aura.
