Sonya Thomson is an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist within the Neurology Headache Service in Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.
With over 23 years’ clinical experience, she has background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and pain management, with the past 8 years working exclusively in a multidisciplinary headache team. Sonya is a non-medical prescriber, injection therapist and acupuncturist with a special interest in patient education and self-management. She leads service improvement initiatives including the development of a virtual education programme for chronic migraine.
Sonya is an honorary advisor for the British Association for the Study of Headache (BASH) and is passionate about advancing evidence-based multidisciplinary headache care.
